Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human FFAR2. AA range:271-320
Specificity
GPR43 Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of GPR43 protein.
Formulation
Liquid in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide.
Dilution rate
Immunofluorescence: 1/200 - 1/1000. ELISA: 1/5000. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purification process (Immunogen)
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen.
Background
This gene encodes a member of the GP40 family of G protein-coupled receptors that are clustered together on chromosome 19. The encoded protein is a receptor for short chain free fatty acids and may be involved in the inflammatory response and in regulating lipid plasma levels. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009],
Function
function:Receptor for short chain fatty acids through a G(i)-protein-mediated inhibition of adenylyl cyclase and elevation of intracellular calcium. The rank order of potency for agonists of this receptor is acetate= propionate = butyrate > pentanoate = formate.,similarity:Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.,tissue specificity:Expressed at relatively high levels in peripheral blood leukocytes and, to lesser, extent, in spleen.,
